Freshwater and Marine Waterbugs Double Feature
Water bugs offer important ecological services functions in freshwater an, estuarine and marine aquatic environments. They recycle nutrients by scavenging (sifting) dead or decaying (rotting) bacteria, plants and animals; provide a vital food source for native fish, birds, platypus, frogs and reptiles; and serve as a great biological indicator of waterway and bay health.
