South Pine Riparian Recovery Project

The South Pine Riparian Recovery Project (SPRRP) aims to restore the integrity of riparian zones and waterways that are prone to erosion throughout the South Pine River sub-catchment. Despite several devastating flood events since 2022, the Cedar Creek and Samford community have remained resilient in the face of more frequent natural disasters. As part of the SPRRP, PRCA has actively restored riparian habitat, whilst raising community awareness on the risk of increased natural disasters in a region that is particularly vulnerable to a changing climate.

The goals of this project include but are not limited to; improving the communities flood resilience in the South Pine River sub-catchment, improving community engagement through workshops and tree planting days, and to reduce erosion and improve water quality in the catchment, which flows directly into the iconic Moreton Bay.

This project is proudly funded through the NAB Foundations Community Grant.
